Rosettes!

Hi Everyone and Happy Monday! It’s so crazy how things can come in spurts!  This past week, I had four large orders that  all involved decorating with Rosettes!  I can go months and months, or even a year, without having anyone ask me to do a decoration in Rosettes. One was for a baby shower!  My client actually wanted 4 dozen cupcakes decorated with Rosettes and then a giant cupcake “cake” in the same design for the centerpiece.  I think they came out pretty nice and my client was pleased, which is the most important thing! The color theme was rose, pink and cream with gold.  The mom to be was happy, too, and I was told she was brought to tears! Another cake I was asked to do this past week was for a 40th Birthday Celebration.  It’s hard to tell in this picture but this cake is huge …

Cowboy’s Fans!

Good afternoon and Happy Monday!  Hope everyone had a great weekend! So I was asked to do a birthday cake for one of our co-worker’s who is huuuuuuuuuge Dallas Cowboy’s fan.  She is a true fan and loves them whether they are winning or losing.  So of course my boss asked that I do something in a Dallas Cowboys theme.  I picked a triple layer chocolate with a chocolate buttercream.   Here’s the cake… We had the cake here at work after lunch and she really loved the Cowboy’s theme!  She was happy!  But what’s really funny is that she is such a fan, she didn’t even really want to cut the cake at all.  Of course, she had to because there were about 15 of us wanting a piece after singing an off key version of Happy Birthday to her.  So Lori started cutting the cake and serving piece by …

Custom Cakes and Cupcakes

Hi everyone!  When I was first coming up with ideas on how I wanted to set up my on-line store with my awesome website designer Greg (shoutout to Company 50), I had a hard time trying to figure out what to put on my site!  And when it came to the custom orders and pricing, there was just no way to really establish a set price or actual cake or cupcake to put in the “store” because they are all so different.  I thought that posting pictures of some of the custom desserts I get asked to do would be a great idea! So I’m going to start with a birthday cake I was asked to so this weekend.  The theme was Baby Shark Doo Doo!  I had never heard of these little guys before until just a couple of days ago.  It’s actually a YouTube cartoon/song and it’s quite …

Shannon and Susan and the Untraditional Wedding Cake!

Debra HannaUncategorized

This past Saturday, I attended the afternoon wedding ceremony for Shannon and Susan.  I went to high school with them (many, many years ago).  It was such a beautiful ceremony and gathering of friends and family.  It was casual, but still elegant.  Laid back, but still classy.  Just all around comfortable (the Bride and Groom wore Converse)!  Glen Garza a/k/a Double G from KLAQ, was the officiator. Which brings me to the cake!  They asked me to do their wedding cake for them.  No real direction other than they didn’t want anything tiered or fancy.  In speaking with Susan, she even left the flavor choice to me.  It was clear they just wanted to be married.  They did tell me that their theme was “When Hell Freezes Over”.  I’m certain they have both said that phrase numerous times over the years.   So I started researching cakes with that theme.  A lot …
