Dinosaur Cake

Debra HannaUncategorized

Hi guys!  I just wanted to post a picture of this cute little dinosaur cake.  I had never made a dinosaur before.  This particular request was for a little boy’s birthday.  He wanted strawberry cake with a dinosaur on top and the decoration had to include walnuts!  This is what I came up with!  His teeth are made from grains of rice!  My client loved it and so did her son!

I’m Ready for Spring!

Debra HannaUncategorized

In just a few weeks, we’ll be setting the clocks forward one hour!  More daylight in the evening and I cannot wait.  This also means warmer weather, blooming plants, flowers and trees, and of course, light and fruity desserts!  One of my absolute favorite flavor combinations is lemon and blueberry!  You cannot get more spring than that and this cake here is absolutely moist, delicious, sweet, tangy…not to mention beautiful.  Hits all the right notes! Another favorite spring flavor is lime!  Fresh lime juice and lime zest is a must! Here’s a cherry limeade cupcake taken after the refreshing drink you can get from Sonic!  Yummm-my!

VEGAN Desserts

Debra HannaUncategorized

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday!  So I’ve been doing quite a few vegan desserts lately.  I am not vegan by any means, but do appreciate all diet preferences.  I’ve honestly got to say that my vegan cupcakes and desserts are soooooooooo very tasty.  You can’t even tell that they are vegan.  Recently, I decided to try making vegan baklava.  If you’re not familiar with baklava, it’s that deliciously phyllo dough layered, pecan-y, honey, butter drizzled deliciousness that is more popular around the holidays.  I made it vegan by using vegan butter and substituting the honey with blue agave and a touch of pure maple syrup.  The feedback has been 100% positive.  Here’s a picture: My vegan cupcakes have been requested pretty frequently as well. Any form of chocolate has to be the favorite.  This is my vegan chocolate with pomegranate.  There is actual pomegranate juice in the batter . This …

Giant Cupcake!

Debra HannaUncategorized

What’s better than a regular cupcake?!  A giant cupcake “cake”!  I was asked to do this for a recent graduation party.  I also made the matching regular size cupcakes!   Beautiful colors they picked out.  Perfect for the “rose” design!

Honey, butter and Vanilla!

Debra HannaUncategorized

I recently made some honey butter cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting.  The moist cupcakes have the best flavor – I mean how can you go wrong with honey and butter?!  I decided to decorate these with a little honeybee and took some melting chocolate and poured it over some bubble wrap and let it harden!  Looks like honeycomb!  I thought these cupcakes were just the cutest things.  Delicious, too!

Fresh Cherries!

Debra HannaUncategorized

Hi everyone!  Let me say that I am so happy that fresh cherries are in season!  They aren’t available until late May and don’t stay in season long.  I am going to bake as much as I can using these little fruits while I can get them. Chocolate and cherry!  One of the best and most classic flavor combinations!  The filling in these cupcakes is a homemade cherry compote.  The frosting is made using cream cheese, heavy whipping cream and a little powdered sugar for sweetness.  I was going for a “black forest vibe!”  And of course, I had to dip the cherries on top in some semi-sweet chocolate!  Delicious!

Harry Potter!

Debra HannaUncategorized

First, let me say that I remember when I first got my website going, I insisted on having a blogging section because I was going to blog, blog, blog, every day.  Not so easy.  I have tons of stuff I’d like to blog about, but there never seems to be enough time.  So for now, I’m going to use this section to post pictures of stuff I do that you can’t really put in my store since each custom cake is uniquely different in theme, size, price, etc. So here’s a custom cake I did recently.  The theme obviously was Harry Potter.  I have never, ever in my life seen any Harry Potter movie or read any Harry Potter Book.  This is actually the second time I’ve been asked to do Harry Potter themed desserts.  For this customer, they wanted cupcakes, too! Chocolate cupcakes and a marble cake were the …

Mickey Mouse Smash Cake

Debra HannaUncategorized

Well it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything!  Fortunately I have been extremely busy with orders from new customers and quite a few orders from repeat customers!  I am so thankful. Last weekend I was asked to do a Mickey Mouse giant cupcake Cake!  It was going to be a cake for a photo op for a little boy’s 1st birthday.  It was a lot of fun doing this cake and I was really pleased with how it came out.  After the party was over, his mom sent me the cutest picture that was taken as they let him have at the cake.  I love, love, love when customers send me pictures of the cake being enjoyed by those the cake was made for! The picture the mom sent had the square around the little boy’s face and I couldn’t edit it out!  Anyway, I think it’s an …

Princess Cupcakes!

Debra HannaUncategorized

So do you have someone in your office that has a Birthday coming up and who considers herself a “Princess”?  Or perhaps she was given that nickname for any number of reasons?!  That’s what happened here at the office where I work my normal 9 to 5. We all love her to death and the “Princess” nickname was given as a compliment and in fun.  We’re all pretty easy going around here so it’s easy to tease!  My co-workers asked me to make cupcakes for her birthday and with a princess theme.  This is what I came up with: Classy enough for the office while getting our little jab across!  It was fun and she loved them!  If you have a “Princess” in your office and need cupcakes, please email me!  I’d be happy to help. Thanks for reading!
